We’ve brought you the skinny on the The Biggest Loser Club weight loss plan, the BodyBugg armbands used by Biggest Loser contestants, and now we’ll let you in on the newest equipment that will put Season 10 teams to the test. Come this fall on the popular reality show the gym will be stocked with specialized machines and equipment manufactured by Cybex International.

Cybex International, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of premium exercise equipment for both commercial and consumer use. They offer a full range of strength training and cardio training machines that can be used at home or in commercial gyms and fitness centers. They will be providing the show—and the Biggest Loser Resort—with treadmills, bikes, steppers, and the Arc Trainer.

The Total Body Arc Trainer will be one of the new cool features on The Biggest Loser, replacing the elliptical machines and providing a bigger calorie burn. The science behind the Arc Trainer’s big calorie burn is the Arc motion. It engages the right muscles – quads and glutes – that demand lots of energy from the body when they are called upon to work. The good news is that the Arc Trainer is much easier on the joints and can be used longer without putting a strain on the knees, hip or back.

The Arc Trainer provides 3 levels of workout: At the lower incline levels, the “glide” is a cross-country skier. In the mid-range levels, the motion is a “stride” (like an elliptical). At the high levels, the “climb” of a stepper or climber. Currently the specs on Arc Trainer Model 750AT shows a max payload of 400 pounds, which could be problematic for many of the contestants. The commercial version runs about $8000, while the home version is available for under $3000.

Now you can train right along with Biggest Loser contestants in your own home.
