Beth is a beauty and lifestyles writer who believes that knowing what's in the products you're putting on your body is as important to how you look as picking the right makeup colors. A self-proclaimed health nut who is always trying new exercise and eating regimes, she has learned to blend her two loves of beauty and wellness.
Growing up in Kentucky, Beth was always doing her friends' hair and makeup—she always had a knack for knowing how to highlight a person's best features. Then after receiving a degree in journalism at New York University, she began her career covering beauty as an editor at First and YM magazines, she where she learned the ins and outs of the industry.
But over the years (and due in no small part to her classically trained reporting background), she began taking her coverage one step further, asking big questions about how products are developed and the side effects they may have on your body.
This brought her to a realization that there was a bit of disconnect in the way beauty products were covered.
So she began sticking her fingers in lotions and potions, looking at product research development and talking to medical doctors as well as natural beauty experts, all in the quest to find the best ways to look and feel fantastic while taking care of your body. She now covers health-based beauty for several well-known women's magazines, as well as in her weekly column here at HealthNews.com.
